DABEL provides interim executive technology management to all size companies in any industry. When an organization finds itself without technology leadership, or perhaps is looking for mentorship for their senior technology team, DABEL is where they turn. During an assignment, an expectation of the client is to be part of the hiring process for a permanent CIO or CTO, assess the existing organization’s capabilities and depth that results in identifying key skill and/or organizational gaps. Companies often find themselves saddled with legacy infrastructure and business systems that inhibit growth (technical debt), exposes both internal and external risks and/or cannot be adequately managed or controlled at the security level. Operational issues may also exist within an organization's technology landscape whether this is poor operational controls, poor performance, unplanned downtime, etc.

DABEL will assess the  technology landscape, identify the pros and cons of what exists, identify ‘hot spots’ that can be resolved and map out a future roadmap. This is done with full transparency and with the assistance of the Internal Audit function (if it exists).  This activity is linked to the Strategic Planning process where an alignment of business requirements and technology options are required.

 Every technology organization needs a strategy, whether this is a short, medium or long term. In today’s dynamic environment, there are many options available to both solve business problems, but also provide a capability for revenue growth to potentially reach customers that were previously inaccessible. Technology strategy includes addressing infrastructure such as cloud, analytics such as business intelligence, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.  Not all of these are useful to companies nor are companies capable of implementing such technologies.
